Chiefs in Bradley Invite at dusty Detweiler

(Peoria, IL.) -  Waubonsee Community College Cross Country runners participated in the Bradley University Invite at an unsually dry and dusty Detweiler Park course in Peoria. On the women's side Waubonsee's Alexandra Lemke covered the 6K course in a time of 23:20 to place 159th overall. Katharine Ball, Emma Perry and Imisioluwa Adekoya each registered their best times of the year for head coach Eric Baron's squad. Waubonsee's men's team placed 22nd overall among the field that featured a mix of NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and junior college programs. The Chiefs tallied a team score of 629 as Russell Abner led Waubonsee's contingent with a 103rd place finish on the 8K course. Luis Baez was not far beind him in 112th place, while Marco Silva placed 130th overall as the Chiefs third finisher in his first collegiate meet. The rest of Waubonsee's particpants each set a personal best time as Daniel Strnad finished 141st, John Neville was 143rd, Lucas Fielder came in 147th and Ryan Hendrix was 148th.
